Biased for religion, gender, ethnicity, location, wealth, career,
All we received were scraps of a rotten Peach
No one cared because we weren’t one of them
The Large Gold Koi wanted help for the Innocent White Koi,
But no one helped – not even believing in the White Koi’s heart
No one cared because we weren’t one of them
They hated the Large Gold Koi for being an outsider great in plans and skill,
So the Local Koi punished both Gold and White Koi by stealing their kelp
No one cared because we weren’t one of them
The Large Gold Koi created a reef cove for the White Koi and for other fish,
But the Local Koi turned their backs on all of them, parasitizing the reef
No one cared because we weren’t one of them
Even those from our heritage weren’t much aid, except a few:
Not enough class or wealth, thus shunned
No one cared because we weren’t one of them
Peaches are supposed to be sweet and juicy
The kelp and help should be plentiful, even for these Koi
No one cared because we weren’t one of them
Karma is beginning to spoil this accursed Peach State
Their society’s cultural fears coming true by social and political overrule
No one cared because we weren’t one of them
No, I’m not a “woke” fool: I’m not a tool!
I know the coming policies by the overrule
No one cared because we weren’t one of them
Will they help us now, the current ones or the over-rule?
Not in this accursed Peach State! They’ll give only spoiled gruel!
No one cared because we weren’t one of them
I think about all the times the Innocent White Koi felt sad
I think about all the times the Large Gold Koi felt mad
No one cared because we weren’t one of them
I see the wasted potential in the Innocent White Koi
Much more aware and sociable than I
No one cared because we weren’t one of them
I see the frustration hidden in the Large Gold Koi’s heart
From isolation, desiring a new way for help
No one cared because we weren’t one of them
To me, this accursed Peach State is not worth saving,
And it has been long past time for escaping
No one cared because we weren’t one of them
