What Makes a Good Conference? Part I: Backstory.
Interest in changing my career and life in a new direction.
GSM:TABRITMIA
Watching videos and reading blogs around social media, I find a conference or training event that interests me or is a potential opportunity to moving on to a new job or network. I’ve traveled to several conferences and training sessions that had their pros and cons. Even though I haven’t been able to move on with a new network or job at another state at the time of this post, I have a few thoughts and pointers for those of you who are new to developing conferences and training sessions or those who might need to revamp their current ones.
A good indicator that a conference or training session has been very successful is when an autistic introvert in the middle of her period drives over to your venue and gets information they haven’t gotten online or in their books, has left the venue with contacts that result in a new network that doesn’t require social media to communicate, or gets a job that results in a new career.
Note: I will be citing the state, the theme of the conferences, and the month/year, but not the name of the conferences or the names of the host(s) or organization(s) in the next eight weekly posts in this series.
